Thank you for stopping by my OWOH giveaway-I've been reading your posts--this one in particular caught my interest, as I bought this little paperback book and read it to my children when they were little. Then I gave copies to my daughters and I've read it to my grandchildren--it's a very sweet story, and you're right, it definitely brings tears to my eyes . . . Robert Munsch, the author, tells about how he came to write the story on his website--so sad, but a wonderful book came out of his tragedy. ~Jann

It's more of a book for the parent than for the child :) Try to read it with a dry eye :)

OMG I remember the first time I heard this book at reading group. Everyone started bawling. I still can't read it without crying..
