Jane Wynn

This weekend I took a wonderful class with Jane Wynn (actually 2 classes) . Joanne Thieme Huffman came all the way from Michigan to take the class too (and have a wonderful visit with me)(she made it wonderful, not me, LOL). That's Jane and Joanne pictured above.

The first class was bezel making -- shaping strips of metal (bezel wire) and soldering them to a base. Then the next day we made bezels from pipes. I had so much fun-- and learned a lot. Here are my pieces in progress. The top ones are filled with resin -- the bottom ones may get resin or may stay as is -- but I do have to patina them all a bit. The pipe with the seaweed in it will be getting a piece of plexi put on top -- to kind of make a shaker bezel. Jane is a great teacher. I hardly burnt myself at all, LOL. (Note to mom and dad: we used torches to solder -- I'm sure that I can do all of my own plumbing now.....)(definitely click on the picture for a close up!)

Thanks for stopping by Martha. My post took a really long time to get up due to not knowing the new camera...that will be another class:) and having trouble getting the photos aligned etc. After all that, I didn't get any pictures of the work done, so thank you so much for this element. I really enjoyed meeting you in person after being a blog lurker on your site. Hope we meet again soon.

Martha, you did, indeed make it a wonderful visit. Your necklaces are going to be so cool, you'll have to wear one every day.

Hey Martha, it good to see that your pieces made it home! My husband kept taking the corners like a race car driver! but they all made it! I prayed to the resin gods and they blessed me with some really great pieces! It was nice to meet you, and hope to see you soon, Nancy
p.s. your necklaces look great!

Martha your class with Jane Wynn looks amazing! I would love to learn how to do that - I think me and the soldering iron and torch could be dangerous though!!!!
Jane was booked to teach a class in May at the art retreat I went to, but the class didnt eventuate which is a shame.

What an awesome trechnique! I hope your dad had an awesome birthday and I'm not ready for the cold either. It seems I have less tolerance for it every year....
